Daring theft at Indora: Gold jewellery worth 15 lakhs looted

DSC_1146 (1)Nagpur News: Burglars continue their burglary spree in the city and even police presence in the area too does not seem to be a deterrent for them these days. Burglars looted Gold jewellery worth over Rs 15 lakhs from a businessman’s house in Indora area under the jurisdiction of Pachpaoli Police Station.

Gurmeet Singh Kokhar aged 55 years and a resident of 124-B, Ashok Square, Gurunanakpura, Indora has a Cooler Manufacturing Unit and Fabrication Unit in Indora area. His wife Arti Gurmeet Kokhar had gone to her native place in Indore for the last 3 days. On Saturday, April 27, 2014, Gurmeet Singh Kokhar had gone along with his friends on a business errand to Shivni in Madhya Pradesh.

The burglars who had probably kept a watch of the house, struck on the house by scaling the walls near the main gate. After breaking the locks of the three separate doors to gain entry into the house, they entered and ransacked the house.

DSC_1153The burglars did not spare even one inch of the house and burgled everything that could be disposed off. Apart from other goods and valuable, they burgled jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh.

When Gurmeet Singh Kokhar arrived early in the morning on Sunday, April 27, 2014, he found the locks of the main doors broken and the house ransacked. He informed the Pachpaoli Police Station, who immediately arrived at the spot and started investigation.

DSC_1179The dog squad was summoned but the canine could not get a proper scent to continue the search. The Finger Print Bureau was also summoned. They have succeeded in getting some finger prints.

ACP Baba Dongre and police officials of Pachpaoli Police Station are investigating the case after registering a case of theft against unknown offenders.

Gurmeet Singh Kokhar told the police that valuable and jewellery worth Rs 15 lakhs was burgled from his house. The Pachpaoli Police said that prima facie it appeared that the burglary was committed by more than three people.
