Mumbai: Senior NCP leader and Opposition Leader in Maharashtra Legislative Council Dhananjay Munde on Tuesday came down heavily on State BJP President Raosaheb Danve for his outrageous remark on farmers. Recently, Danve had said that police should have fired bullets on the legs of farmers and not on chests during an agitation waged by them in Ahmednagar district for appropriate price for sugarcane. Danve made this remark after visiting the farmers injured in police firing.
Launching a blistering attack, Munde said that time has come to kick Danve on his back. He was speaking at the ‘Halla Bol’ morcha taken out by NCP at Bhokardan in Jalna district over demands of the farmers. “The State BJP President who had abused farmers and said bullets should have been fired on legs of farmers and not on chest should be kicked on his back,” Munde roared.
Munde further claimed that the beneficiary persons being depicted in “Mi Labharthi” advertisement were actually benefited during rule NCP-Congress Government and not this government. Accusing the BJP-led NDA government of doing a lip service to the cause of farmers, Munde said while the government was busy figuring out whom to provide benefits of the loan waiver, not a single rupee has been given to farmers since the loan waiver was announced.
