Nagpur: Mankapur police foiled a dacoity plan by arresting a gang of six robbers in the wee hours of Monday. Cops have also seized lethal weapons from the possession of arrested accused.
The Police Sub-Inspector Gurnule at Mankapur Police Station received secret information that a gang of six persons has assembled at the vacant place behind Plot No. 84, Daval Society around 2 am on Monday. Acting on the information, the PSI along with his team rushed to the spot and surrounded the gang.
Seeing the cops, the six members of the gang tried to flee the spot but were nabbed by the cops. On frisking cops found the gang in possession of sharp-edged weapons to be used in dacoity.
The accused have been identified as Arjun Rajesh Gaur (22), Ritik Rajkumar Gaur (19), Shakil Ali Mohd Ali (24), Johim Sitlo Patel (19), all residents of Bajeriya, Vikas Manohar Jaiswal (28) and Abhinay Ashok Dhurya (31), both residents of Padmavati Nagar. The gang was planning a dacoity with the help of lethal weapons.
All the accused have been booked under Section 399 read with Sub-Section 4/25 of Arms Act, Sub-Section 135 of Mumbai Police Act and placed under arrest.
