Nagpur: Dabur Odomos, the country’s most trusted personal application mosquito repellent has emerged as the best in-home protection against deadly Dengue-causing mosquitoes. According to a study conducted by a reputed NABL-accredited laboratory, Dabur Odomos offers significantly higher protection against the deadly mosquitoes as compared to liquid vapourisers and coils.
The study revealed that mean total protection offered by Odomos cream against Dengue-causing Aedes Aegypti mosquito was significantly high (at 99.98%) as compared to liquid vapourisers (66.08%) and coils (64.16%) during the first 30 minutes of exposure. The mean protection offered by fabric Roll-On mosquito repellents was even lower at 31.08%, Priya Bhat, Brand Manager-Odomos, Dabur India Ltd, said.
“The Odomos range uses a formula which masks the distinctive body odour that human skin emits. Therefore, the mosquito cannot detect the human being, making the individual invisible to the mosquito. Dabur’s Odomos has always been known for providing the best out-of-home protection from mosquitoes. This test, which was conducted under room chamber conditions with air changes, proves that Odomos also offers far higher in-home protection against these deadly mosquitoes as compared to conventional mosquito repellents, like liquid vapourisersand coils,” Priya Bhat said.
Moving forward on its mission to fight the dengue menace, Dabur Odomos today also announced the launch of its mega school-level initiative, Zero Tolerance Against Mosquito. Under this initiative, Odomos – along with Health Care majors in each city – will visit schools to spread awareness about mosquito-borne diseases and educate school kids about effective prevention methods.
“As a brand,Odomos has been working towards helping people stay safe from mosquito-borne diseases through product innovations by extensive R&D, over the years. As an extension to that, we took up this social initiative to help build public awareness. Under Odomos Zero Tolerance Against Mosquito campaign, we will be spreading awareness about deadly mosquito-borne diseases and how children can protect themselves from such diseases. We will be educating the children about various methods to prevent mosquito breeding in their schools and homes and thereby preventing themselves from falling prey to mosquito bites,” Bhat added.
Contrary to popular perception, diseases like Dengue and Malaria are spread by daytime mosquitoes. Children are at risk of being bitten by these mosquitoes, not just while playing in the open but also inside the closed confines of their rooms. Even people in offices are at risk of falling sick after being bitten by these mosquitoes. Odomos is the only personal application product that offers users complete protection from daytime mosquitoes that spread such life-threatening diseases. Dabur Odomos has also been certified to be safe for use on infants and children in a test conducted by leading paediatricians. Dabur Odomos’personal applications range includes easy to use and skin friendly cream, lotion, gel and spray.
