Cyber thug robs man of Rs 4.50 lakh in Yashodhara Nagar

Nagpur: In a major cyber crime, a thug tricked and cheated a man to the tune of Rs 4.50 lakh by transferring the money to another account fraudulently.

A resident of 202, Sona Apartment, Gokul Nagari, Bhilgaon in Yashodhara Nagar police area, Amitkumar Vishnudeo Prasad (39) faced problems in operating YONO Apps of SBI Bank on December 3. Therefore, he searched SBI Helpline Number on the Internet and phoned the centre. An unidentified criminal phoned Amitkumar and sent a link. Assuming the link genuine, Amitkumar opened the link and filled in his entire personal information. The moment Amitkumar filled in the details, the cyber crook transferred Rs 4.50 lakh from SBI Bank account to another account. With this fraud, the trickster duped Amitkumar to the tune of Rs 4.50 lakh.

Yashodhara Nagar PSI Harshal Bhalerao, based on the complaint lodged by Amitkumar Prasad, registered a case under Sections 419, 420 of the IPC read with Sections 66(C), 66(D) of Information Technology Act and probing the matter further.
