CR’s Mega Fortress ticket checking drive at Nagpur Station nets Rs 4.58 lakh from 1181 cases

Nagpur: A Mega Fortress Special Ticket Checking Drive, under the guidance of Central Railway’s DRM M S Uppal and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager K K Mishra, was conducted at Nagpur Railway Station. The team, led by Assistant Commercial Manager (Ticket Inspection) H K Behera, comprised 84 ticket checking employees, 25 RPF personnel and five supervisors.

Total 1181 cases of ticketless travel, unauthorised luggage were detected and a fine of Rs 4,58,340 was recovered from the offenders.

The cases of ticketless travel detected were 218 and penalty of Rs 1,05,905 was recovered from them. Similarly, the Railway team found 752 cases of unauthorised travel and Rs 3,21,610 were recovered from the erring passengers towards penalties. 211 cases of violation of luggage booking norms were also detected and Rs 30,825 were recovered from the offending passengers.

The Railway officials said that such drive will continue in the coming days, too. Under the special ticket-checking drive, the Railways will penalise people travelling without valid tickets. The exercise would check transfer of ticket cases and without ticket passengers, besides detecting of fake, forged tickets, misuse of passes and concessions, among others.
