In a significant breakthrough, the police personnel of Detective Branch Squad (DB) of the Nagpur Crime Branch recovered stolen goods worth Rs 17 lakhs, which was displayed on Sunday November 2, 2014.
In the first case was registered with the Ajni Police Station on January 1, 2013 bearing case no 1/13 punishable under section 437 and 380 of IPC, the cops arrested one accused Ankush alias Ankhia Sunil Lakhotia aged 23 and a resident of Shatbdi Nagar falling under the jurisdiction of Ajni Police Station. The accused was involved in the case of house-breaking of the complainant Digambar Dayaram Jibkate on January 1, 2013.
On sustained interrogation, the cops discovered that there were prior cases registered against the accused in other police stations. The DB Squad has recovered the entire stolen gold of 14 tolas (140 grams) valued at Rs 3.5 lakhs.
The police officials who were involved in the recovery include Assistant Police Inspector Chaudhari, Head Constables Manoj Joshi, Suresh Hingnekar, Amit Patre, Sachin Sadke and Woman Police Constable Rubina.
In the second case, which was registered with the Rana Pratap Police Station bearing case no 63/14 punishable under section 392/34 of IPC, the cops arrested two accused 1. Amol Vinod Sherje a resident of Pension Nagar and 2. Akash Rajjo Singh Thakur a resident of Kutubhshaw Nagar under the jurisdiction of Gittikhadan Police Station.
The cops recovered 15 two-wheelers and a Mangal Sutra weighing 27 grams (from two chain snatching cases committed by the accused).
The recovered two-wheelers include

- Honda Glamour 1 No
- Honda Splendour 6 Nos
The cops have recovered the two wheelers from various places.

3 two-wheelers from Nagpur City
The police officials who executed the recovery include Assistant Police Inspector Sanap, Head Constables Sheikh Afsar Khan, Pramod Dhole, Nayak Police Constable Mahesh Police Constable Rahul and Driver Nayak Police Constable Dilip. These police personnel have recovered stolen gold managlsutra weighing 27 grams which was committed by the accused in two chain-snatching cases. The cops have also recovered 15 stolen two-wheelers. The total worth of the recovered goods is pegged at Rs 6.5 lakhs. The cops suspect involvement of this culprit in many more two-wheelers theft cases which the cops hope to recover on a sustained interrogation of the accused.
In the third case, which was registered with the Pardi Police Station bearing case no 432/14 punishable under section 406, 403 & 34 of IPC, the cops arrested one accused named Shubham Arjun Sanel aged 22 years and a resident of Pardi area.
The accused had allegedly stolen a Tata Xenon Pick-up vehicle owned by Sandeep Naktode who owns a Mobile Repair Shop. He used to rent out the Tata Xenon pick-up vehicle for transporting goods.
The cops had recovered the vehicle from Raipur. The police officials who participated in the recovery operation include Police Sub Inspector Krishnanand Pande, Head Constables Sudhakar Metkar and Jayenta Gudadh and Nayak Police Constable Noor Singh Damaye.
The entire operation was conducted under the guidance of Commissioner of Police K K Pathak, Additional Police Commissioner Anoop Kumar, Assistant Commissioner of Police Nilesh Raut and Police Inspector Kishore Supare.
