Cricket fan tricked by two conmen, given bogus tickets of Ind-NZ T20 match

Nagpur: Two tricksters, taking the advantage of cricket fever, trapped a crazy fan and offered him five tickets of India-New Zealand match of T20 World Cup to be played at VCA’s Jamtha Stadium on Tuesday (March 15) evening. The entusiastic fan received the five tickets but bogus ones. Now, the cricket buff will have to watch the match on TV sulkingly minus Rs 2000 he paid for the tickets.

The victim cricket fan Amit Ram Khare (40), resident of MIG Qr No. 14/4, Trimurti Nagar, received a call on his mobile from 7028428688 at about 4 pm on Monday (March 14). The unidentified caller talked ‘authoritatively’ and promised to provide Amit with tickets for India-Newzealand match. Believing the tricky caller, Amit evinced keen interest in buying the tickets. The caller then asked Amit to collect five tickets valued at Rs 2000 from two men between Gupta House, Civil Lines and Maharajbagh Road. After reaching the spot, the two men in the age group of 28-35 years handed over an envelope containing the five tickets to Amit and took Rs 2000 from him. The unsuspecting as well as ‘happy’ Amit later checked the tickets. To his shock, the tickets turned out to be bogus ones. The shattered Amit immediately approached Sitabuldi police and lodged a complaint in thisd connection.

The Lady PSI Shende registered a case under Sections 420, 34 of IPC against the two unidentified tricksters and launched a search to nab them.
