Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has not got the welcome she must have desired for her comeback. Post the lukewarm response to Jazbaa, Ash has set now her eyes on Sarbjit, in which she is doing a non-glam role of Sarabjit’s sister. The movie is based on the life of Indian citizen Sarabjit Singh who was imprisoned in Pakistan jail and died under mysterious circumstances while serving the sentence.
Even as Aishwarya’s movie market is down with her current stint, the brands are also gradually shying away from her. Last we heard that Aishwarya is now out of one popular jewellery brand which she has been endorsing for the past three years. And guess what? The newbie of the tinseltown has taken her place.
The brand released an official statement saying, “We would like to thank Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for augmenting the product propositions of our brand over the last 3 years and helping it establish itself as a leading national brand. We welcome Sonam Kapoor and are confident that her status as a style icon and popularity will strengthen future product campaigns of our jewellers.” A few years ago, a major tiff sparked between the ladies when a cosmetic brand announced Sonam as their new co-ambassador.
So it appears that Sonam has once again become the bone of contention for Ash!
