Nagpur: In an audacious act, a couple and their workers smashed the rear wall of a shop and stole valuables worth Rs 1 lakh. The miscreants even used a car for transporting the stolen stuff. No arrests have been made in the crime so far.

According to police, the complainant Krishna Chandrabhan Balwe (45), resident of Jaitala, near Hanuman Temple, was running his shop from a rented place owned by the accused couple Pramodini Dhanraj Gajal and Dhanraj Gajal.

On February 25 around 11.30 am when Krishna closed his shop and went home, the accused couple Pramodini and Dhanraj, with the help of their workers, demolished the rear wall of the shop and burgled valuables worth Rs 1 lakh from the shop. The accused husband-wife duo even used a car (MH-31/DS 5628) for transporting the stolen stuff.

MIDC PSI Bhagat, based on a complaint lodged by Krishna Balwe, has booked the accused couple and others under Sections 454, 380, 506, 34 of IPC and investigating the matter further. The reason behind the couple’s act could not be ascertained immediately but an old dispute seems to be the fallout of the burglary.
