Nagpur: Nagpur: A car-borne young couple, hailing from Gondia, was relieved of cash and gold ornaments collectively valued at Rs 2.53 lakh by a trickster. Lack of commonsense too facilitated the duping of the husband-wife duo.
The victims, Prerna Mohit Agrawal (25), native of Asamgaon Road, Deori, District Gondia, along with husband had come to Nagpur in their car (MH-35/P 4626) around 5 pm on Friday. The Agrawal couple runs a firm named Mohit Trading at their native place.
After arriving in Nagpur, Prerna and her husband stopped at Shree Medical Stores, near Big Bazaar, Wardha Road for purchasing medicines. While Mohit went to the medicine shop, Prerna was seating in the car. At the same time, an unidentified man (around 40 years) approached Prerna and told her that some money has fallen down.
Thinking her husband could have dropped the money, Prerna got down from the car. As soon as she went on to fetch the money, the unidentified man lifted the hand bag slyly and vanished from the scene. The hand bag contained cash of Rs 3500 and gold ornaments collectively valued at Rs 2.53 lakh. The tricked husband-wife duo reached Sitabuldi Police Station and lodged a complaint in this regard.
PSI Puri has booked the accused trickster under Sections 420, 406 of IPC and mounted a search to nab him.
