Counselling round for 1st Year Engineering admissions to begin from July 29

The third round (counselling) for admissions to various engineering colleges for 2014-15 under Centralized Admission Process (CAP) along with other related activities will begin here from Tuesday, July 29. Under this round, admissions will be handed out to the students in various colleges including autonomous colleges, state government-run aided colleges, university-managed institutes, university departments and ICT Mumbai. Besides these admissions, seats of some unaided colleges will also be filled under this counselling round.

The first two CAP rounds have been over and from Tuesday the final counselling round will begin and will continue till Thursday, July 31. Around 25000 seats in 57 colleges will be filled through the three CAP rounds. The first two rounds will be through allotment and third one through counselling.

The counselling round is being held at Government Polytechnic College in Sadar. The candidates will have to submit a Demand Draft of Rs 15000 for the counselling round.

Earlier, around 18185 application kits were sold and 17242 students had registered for the admissions. The first two CAP rounds saw 9192 students confirming their admissions.

About 8000 students are expected to participate in the counselling round from Tuesday. This will be online process and students will get to know their admission status online and at the counselling center too.

Dates of direct admissions to 2nd year BE for Polytechnic Diploma students have been extended till August 2. Earlier, the process was supposed to be completed by July 28.
