Fetus found thrown in bushes at Dhantoli; cops suspect illicit relationship

A fully grown fetus of a girl child has been recovered from the bushes around Chunabhatti area in Dhantoli on Monday evening. Police are suspecting the case of female feticide or the fall out of the pregnancy from illicit relationship. A case against the unidentified mother of the aborted fetus has been registered under section 318 of IPC.

Police sources said they got the call from someone that a fetus was lying hidden in the bushes in front of FCI godown located in Dhantoli area. The fetus was said to be of six months old.

Dhantoli Police Inspector R. Nikam, who was investigating the matter, did not rule out the possibility of the crime being committed to hide the illegitimate relationship.

Meanwhile, sources also suspected the child could have been aborted as it turned out to be the female fetus. However Nikam is further probing into finer details pertaining to the case.
