Nagpur: The proceedings in Vidhan Parishad (Legislative Council) on Day-3 of the Winter Session were disrupted by Opposition members who were demanding total loan waiver of farmers and special package for them. Ultimately, the Council was adjourned for the entire day.
As soon as the proceedings commenced in the Council at 12 noon, the Leader of Opposition Dhananjay Munde rose to speak. He said that the farmers in the State are in deep trouble due to various factors. This is not the time for discussion and Government should immediately announce relief measures like loan waiver and special package.
After Munde’s speech the entire Opposition members rushed to the well of the House and started shouting slogans against Government. The Chairman, watching helplessly the uproar, first adjourned the House for 10 minutes and later for 15 minutes. Ultimately, the presiding officer adjourned the House for entire day as the Opposition continued its uproar.
