Nagpur: Some goons of Gondia who seem to disregard law and the long arm of law came inside the Hospital where he was undergoing treatment and fired at him. Unfortunately, the bullet pierced his stomach area and severed only a few of the vital organs. Pankaj Yadav is undergoing treatment at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH under police protection.
While speaking exclusively with Nagpur Today, the victim Pankaj Sunderlal Yadav said that he was falsely implicated in some case and was sent on Magisterial Custodial Remand (MCR). However, since Pankaj Sunderlal Yadav suffers from many diseases including Migraine, Diabetes, High Blood Pressure and Seizures, he was undergoing treatment at K.T.S. Hospital, Gondia. Since he was on MCR, he was kept on police protection. However, on April 15, 2016 (Ram Navami), some 14 goons entered the hospital and fired the Pankaj Sunderlal Yadav. Fortunately, the bullet did not cause any major damage to any of his vital organs since the bullet pierced his abdomen and passed through.
The four prison cops who were supposed to look into the security of Pankaj Sunderlal Yadav have since been suspended for dereliction of duty.
According to sources, Pankaj Sunderlal Yadav aged 45 years and a resident of Seth Surajmal Ward, Sindhi Colony, Gondia is a Corporator in Gondia. He is also the Director of Milk Federation, Krishi Utpan Bazaar Samiti. He is also said to be the District President of Wrestling Federation Gondia. Pankaj Yadav claimed that he has been active in organizing Wrestling Championship in Gondia.
Pankaj Yadav said that the accused goons including those who had planned and executed the armed attack of him include:
- Raja Sandekar
- Amit Biria
- Ajay Biria
- Abhimanyu Chatre (from Bajrang Dal)
- Harikishan Chaudhari
- Bhim Imla
- Bhalla Biria
- Kunal Maharat
- Janware
- Chadi Malak
- Vishal Gajbhiye and two minor youth.
Nearly eight of these accused have been arrested by the Gondia Police. One of the accused was arrested by cops on April 25, 2016 from the court premises. The hunt is on to arrest the other accused.
Pankaj Sunderlal Yadav said that the main point of contention among his opponents who had planned this firing is he has been raising two very predominant problems in the General Body Meeting of Gondia Municipal Corporation. These problems include cleanliness and swine or pig rearing by some unscrupulous elements.
Pankaj Yadav claimed that the law says that one can rear cattle or swine outside the jurisdiction of Municipal Corporation. In spite of these laws, there are many unscrupulous persons who have criminal antecedent rear swine or pig near their homes. The swine or pig roam the entire city and dirty the city. To add to that the cleanliness is deplorable in Gondia city. Pankaj Yadav claimed throughout the country, Municipal Corporation staff works in two shifts and ensured cleanliness in the city. However, Gondia is the only place in Maharashtra where the staff of the Municipal Corporation functions in a single shift thus neglecting the cleanliness of the city.
Pankaj Yadav claimed that he had been attacked with swords by the same accused on previous occasion too right inside the Municipal Corporation premises. However, at time, due to the negligence and shoddy investigation, many accused got away.
