Cops destroy seized narcotics stock worth Rs 1.36 crore

Nagpur: The Anti-Narcotics Squad of Crime Branch destroyed amounts of narcotics that were confiscated since the year 2012 to 2017 from drug peddlers in 24 cases. The Squad set 1351 kg marijuana (ganja) worth Rs 1.35 crore and 27 gram cocaine/heroin powder worth Rs 1.12 lakh on fire.

The narcotics destroy mission was undertaken on the directives of Commissioner of Police Dr Bhushankumar Upadhyay, Joint Commissioner of Police Ravindra Kadam and a committee comprising Additional Police Commissioner B G Gaykar, Zone 1 DCP Vivek Misal and DCP (Crime) Sambhaji Kadam. Earlier, the concerned court had ordered destroying of the seized narcotics.

The action was carried out by Anti Narcotics Squad’s Senior PI Rajendra Nikam, PSI Swapnil Wagh, head constables Datta Bagul, Tulsidas Shukla, Pradeep Pawar, NPCs Satish Patil, Nitin Salunke, Nitin Mishra, Nitin Rangne, photographers Baliram Rewatkar, Chandrashekhar Patne, Hingna Police Station’s Senior PI Rajendra Tiwari, and head constable Pradeep Wagh.
