Cops crack 17 house-breaking cases in Hudkeshwar, arrest 3, recover booty worth Rs 28.62 lakh

In a cracking success, Hudkeshwar police solved as many as 17 house-breaking cases by arresting three hardcore offenders and also recovered an array of stolen valuables worth over 28 lakh.

Hudkeshwar police were forced to spend sleepless nights in the past few months as house-breaking cases had increased in phenomenal proportions in their jurisdiction. Taking the cudgels, a team of cops, led by API K V Chaugule, first activated the network of informants and based on certain inputs, mounted painstaking efforts to bring the offenders in their net. The team of cops tasted success on June 10, 2016 by nabbing the three key accused in the house-breaking cases. The three accused are Pawan Subhash Rehmatkar (21), resident of Narsala, Radharaman Colony (Mobile No. 9673985557), Ankush Vilasrao Mule (20), originally hailing from Chandurbazaar in Amravati District and presently staying in Narsala, Radharaman Colony, Nagpur and Swapnil Dattatray Aajne (20), resident of Shridhanu Complex, Ulhasnagar, Manewada Road.

All the three accused were charged under Sections 454, 457, 380 of IPC and placed under arrest. An intense questioning revealed their confession of involvement in as many as 17 cases of house-breaking in various areas under Hudkeshwar police.

With the arrest of the three accused, cops have recovered following booty from their possession:

• Gold ornaments weighing 502.5 grams worth Rs 13,87,500.
• Silver jewellery weighing 1430 grams worth Rs 57,200.
• Three two-wheelers worth Rs 1,30,000.
• One Maruti Swift Car worth Rs 4,50,000.
• Cash Rs 3.70 lakh
• 19 mobile phone and other valuables worth Rs 4,67,312.

The collective value of recovered booty stood at Rs 28.62 lakh. Further grilling of three accused could lead to more cases of house-breaking and other crimes as well as involvement more persons.

The arrests and recovery of valuables were made by API K V Chaugule, constables Sandeep Gundalwar, Gurudeo Kumbhalkar, Nitin Akote, Suraj Bhongade, Pankaj Tambde, Vilas Chinchulkar, Sachin Tumsare under the guidance and directives of DCP Zone 4 Ishu Sindhu and ACP Ajni Zone Shirish Rathod.
