Cops bust sex racket in Beltarodi hotel

Nagpur: In a crackdown operation on Tuesday, the Social Security Branch (SSB) of the City Police raided Hotel Oyo Resort Stay Inn located in the Beltarodi area, uncovering a sex racket and rescuing a woman who had been coerced into the flesh trade by pimps. The swift action led to the arrest of six individuals, including the hotelier and manager implicated in the illicit activities.

Among those apprehended are hotelier Suraj Gajanan Nikam (36) from Hukdeshwar, Manager Om Kailash Patel (30) hailing from Pipariya, district Hoshangabad, Madhya Pradesh, along with Avinash Kumar Laxman Pande (24) from Jharkhand, Rocky Rajendra Agrawal (30) residing in Manish Nagar, Ashish Kumar Nagdeo Yadav (27) from Beltarodi, and Nitin Kumar Rohidas Pande (24) from Jaiprakash Nagar.

Acting on a tip-off, SSB officers devised a plan involving a decoy customer, who was dispatched to the hotel. After striking a deal with the suspects, the decoy paid Rs 2,000 as part of the arrangement. Subsequently, he was provided with a woman in one of the rooms, confirming the operation of a sex racket. Upon signaling to the nearby SSB team, a swift raid was conducted, resulting in the arrest of the culprits.

During the raid, authorities seized a significant amount of cash, eight cellphones, and a Hyundai Venue SUV (MH-40/CQ-6476), collectively valued at Rs 17.37 lakh. The diligent efforts of the SSB team, led by officers WPI Lalita Todase and PSI Mahendra Thote, alongside the constabulary staff, under the supervision of senior police officers, led to the successful dismantling of the illicit operation. A case has been registered against the accused persons under relevant sections of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.”
