Constable abused, threatened by theft accused in Kamptee

Nagpur: In a kind of increased incidents in recent days, a Police Constable was abused and threatened by a theft accused when the cops went to his house for a search. The accused has been booked.

The complainant Constable Bhojraj Bante, attached to New Kamptee Police Station said that he had received information that the accused Sunil Rajaram Marathe (37) had hidden burgled goods in his house in Bhoyar Layout, Kamptee. Acting on the information, the constable Bante and his other colleagues went to Sunil Marathe’s house around 10.30 pm on Sunday for a search. As the cops reached the house of accused Sunil Marathe, he suddenly started hurling abuses on constable Bante and threatened to kill him if the cops searched his (accused) house.

New Kamptee PSI Sanap, based on complaint of constable Bante, has booked the accused Sunil Marathe under Sections 353, 332, 504, 506 of the IPC and probing the matter further.
