The Nagpur Police on Thursday detained some Congress workers after they waved black flags at the Prime Minister’s convoy. PM Narendra Modi was in Nagpur to lay the foundation stone for the Metro rail when this incident happened.
The protest by Congress workers stems from recent incidents whereby supporters of Modi booed and shouted down non-BJP Chief Ministers during public events where the PM was invited.
The incident happened during an event in Maharashtra, then in Haryana and on Thursday, in Jharkhand where Chief Minister Hemant Soren underwent the same embarrassment.
