Nanda Jichkar
NAGPUR: Mayor Nanda Jichkar is facing strong criticism from all spheres of society for taking along her son on an official tour to the United States of America (USA) by showing him as her personal secretary. Jichkar, however, has shown no sign of regret and instead made a very arrogant statement that she would again take her son on a foreign tour if she got an opportunity.
The Congress party had issued a notice for no-confidence motion against the Mayor. But the general body meeting of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Monday didn’t even take cognizance of the notice. Instead, the meeting passed a resolution recommending cancellation of the membership of Congress corporator Bunty Shelke for his alleged misbehavior.
Aggrieved over this, the Congress party has now submitted a memorandum to the Municipal Commissioner asking him to cancel the membership of Mayor Nanda Jichkar.
