Congress Unveils 7 Candidates for 2024 Lok Sabha Elections; Nagpur, Chandrapur, Ramtek, Gadchiroli

New Delhi: In a bid to finalize the list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, leaders of the Congress party have convened in Delhi. The presence of Congress state president Nana Patole, Balasaheb Thorat, Vijay Wadettiwar, and Satyajit Patil marked the significance of the meeting held in Delhi. Alongside, a meeting of Congress leaders from Maharashtra was also held, chaired by Madhusudan Mistry, the chairman of the party’s Central Election Committee. Some names emerged during these meetings.

Leading the charge from Nagpur is Vikas Thakre. If Vikas Thakre secures the candidacy from Nagpur, he will face off against Nitin Gadkari, as the BJP had already announced Gadkari’s nomination from the constituency.

Balwant Vanakhede from Amravati,

Dr. Namdev Usendi from Gadchiroli,

Vijay Wadettiwar, Subhash Dhote, and Pratibha Dhanorkar from Chandrapur,

Representing the legacy of Shahu Maharaj from Kolhapur,

Namdev Chorge from Bhiwandi,

Nitin Raut, Rashmi Bavhe, and Raju Parwe from Ramtek are set to compete.

Following today’s meeting, another session of the Congress Central Election Committee is scheduled for tomorrow. This meeting, slated for 4 pm, will finalize decisions regarding Maharashtra’s Lok Sabha candidates. Congress state president Nana Patole has confirmed that announcements regarding state candidates will follow this meeting.
