Nagpur:
The relief provided by High Court by confirming his interim anticipatory bail turned out be short lived as Congress Corporator Harish Gwalbansi was arrested by Special Investigating Team of Crime Branch in a fresh land grab case.

According to police, the complainant, Sanjaysingh Siddhusingh Bais (53), a resident of Raut Layout, Keshav Nagar, Godhni Road, had purchased a plot (No 74), admeasuring 1200 sq ft, Khasra No 7/1, Mouza Hazaripahad in Narmada Cooperative Housing Society in 1999. He had also purchased a Plot (No 75) in his wife Pushpalata’s name in the same society. In 2001, the accused Harish Gwalbansi and his accomplices illegally took possession of the plots by removing the fencing. In 2002, Harish Gwalbansi then constructed the compound wall in the entire society.

On June 20, Sanjay Bais, his son and four other plot owners went to see their plots as they wanted to start the construction work. However, the accused Harish Gwalbansi, Shailesh Gwalbansi and their accomplices accosted them. Harish and Shailesh Gwalbansi told them that they had purchased the land from the people belonging to tribal community and hence they have no rights on the property. The accused demanded Rs 7 lakh from Bais and others if they wanted their land back. Doling out life threats, the accused Harish and Shailesh Gwalbansi asked them to withdraw the complaints lodged by them with the Crime Branch. On the basis of the complaint lodged by Bais, SIT officers registered an offence under Sections 341, 387, 506(B), 323, 504, 34 of the IPC against Harish Gwalbansi, Shailesh Gwalbansi and their accomplices. At present, the accused Harish Gwalbansi has been arrested.
