Con man forges documents, dupes many people of Rs 1.4 crore in land deals; arrested

Nagpur: A con man duped many people to the tune of Rs 1.4 crore by forging documents and selling plots of land that was never his own. The accused has been arrested.

A resident of Plot No. 12, Dinprajahit Society, Narendra Nagar, the accused has been identified as Sachin Jagorao Patil. Between January 2010 and January 2018, the accused Sachin Patil prepared bogus agreement documents showing plots of land belonging to others as his own. After forging the documents, the accused started selling the plots. Accordingly, the accused took Rs 76.27 lakh from the complainant, Sharadchandra alias Sharad Narayan Shripat (69), resident of 285/286, Somalwada, and Rs 28.21 lakh from many other persons in the name of selling them plots which the accused had shown as his own. However, the accused Sachin Patil neither handed over saledeeds to Sharad Shripat and other persons nor returned their money. Thus the accused cheated them to the tune of total Rs 1.4 crore.

Ajni PSI Ingle, acting on the complaint, booked the accused Sachin Patil under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471 of the IPC and arrested him. Further probe is underway.
