CME on Rational Use of Hormones In Women’s Life on Sunday by IMS, Nagpur Chapter

Indian Menopause Society, Nagpur Chapter organized a CME on “Rational Use of Hormones In Women’s Life” on July 31, 2016 at Hotel Centre Point. Dr. Kanchan Sortey secretary, Nagpur Chapter delivered a welcome address.

Dr. Jaideep MalhotraNational President IMS & President Elect FOGSI, Dr. Shobhana Mohandas Secretary from Kochi & Dr. Bipasa Sen from Kolkata were the guest faculties.

Dr. Jaideep Malhotra delivered a talk on “Role of estrogen from womb to tomb” She emphasized the importance of hormone Estrogen in women’s life from puberty till menopause. Estrogen hormone is responsible for youthfulness in women. Defficiency or excess of this hormone can create problems in women’s life like early puberty or delayed puberty & abnormal uterine bleeding. In the reproductive years also it has important role to play in conception. Estrogen decreases to great extent at & after menopause which can lead to crippling problems of osteoporosis which in responsible for fractures in women. The risk of cardio vascular diseases and stroke also increases after the declining estrogen levels.

Perimenopausal abnormal uterine bleeding problem & its treatment was discussed in length by Dr. Bipasa Sen, Dr. Jaideep Malhotra, Dr. Sushma Deshmukh discussed about the various treatment in perimenopausal bleeding which can avoid removal of uterus whereas Dr. Neelam Puniyani explained about certain indications where removal of uterus becomes mandatory.

A Case discussion on Practical Management of Perimenoapusal Bleeding was excellently moderated by Dr. Shobhana Mohandas Secretary IMS. Experts Dr. Bipasa Sen, Dr. Rajasi Sengupta, Dr. Shilpi Sud, Dr Rajesh Gajbhiye & Dr. Deeapli Kadam (Sonologist) put forward their views Dr. Nirmala Vaze Vice president IMS, Dr. Ragini Mandlik & Dr. Shantala Bhole chaired the session Dr. Ujjwala Kedare, Joint Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks.Dr Mangala Puri, Dr Vinita Agrawal were the Masters of Ceremony.
