CM exhorts youths to strengthen democracy by participating in the political, social process

Nagpur News: The Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan exhorted the youth to actively participate in political and social process in order to strengthen the democracy. “The changing publicity mediums, changing situation and changing technology have been changing the equations in the country. Therefore, the youths, instead of holding only discussions, should participate in changing political and social process,” the Chief Minister said while speaking at the 43rd Parliamentary Study Class held in Vidhan Bhavan on Tuesday.

The Parliamentary Study Class was organized by the Maharashtra Branch of Commonwealth Parliamentary Board. The Chief Minister inaugurated the Parliamentary Study Class. Those who were present at the programme include Chairman of Vidhan Parishad Shivajirao Deshmukh, Speaker of Vidhan Sabha Dilip Walse Patil, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Harshawardhan Patil, Deputy Chairman of Vidhan Parishad Vasantrao Davkhare, Deputy Speaker Vasant Purke, Opposition Leader in Vidhan Parishad Vinod Tawde and others.

The Chief Minister further said, “The recently held Assembly elections in five States have shown various aspects. In Delhi, one organization brought the changes by participating in the election process and another organization brought changes by playing the role of agitation. Both these alternatives have been seen through democratic process,” Chavan said.
