CM assures ‘Dry Day’ in State on Mohd Paigambar’s birth anniversary

Nagpur: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that ‘Dry Day’ will be declared in the State on the occasion of Mohammed Paigambar. The announcement came after a delegation of MLAs belonging minority community led by Leader of Opposition in Assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil met the Chief Minister in this regard.

The delegation comprising Naseem Khan, Abu Azmi and others apart from Vikhe Patil met the Fadnavis and demanded declaration of ‘Dry Day’ on December 24 the birth anniversary of Mohammed Paigambar which is also celebrated as Eid-a-Milad. Mohammed Paigambar had given liquor prohibition message 1400 years ago. Therefore, there should be ‘Dry Day’ to mark his birth anniversary, demanded the delegation.

The Chief Minister Fadnavis assured the delegation that a decision on the demand will be taken in the coming two days.
