Nagpur News: The Sadar police have booked a babu working in the office of topmost Nagpur police boss on the charges of cheating job seekers and recovering Rs 1.50 lakh from them by issuing bogus appointments letter.

According to police, the babu, Arvind Vitthal Kamble, a resident of Nirmal Colony, Nara Road, promised Surekha Prashant Bhaisare (28) and her relatives, a job in the office of Commissioner of Police. Arvind, by bogus promise, recovered Rs 1.50 lakh between September 2012 and October 2013 from Surekha and her relatives. Since Arvind was well-apprised of working in the CP’s Office, he handed over appointment letters for the posts of clerks. However, when Surekha and her relatives, armed with the “appointment letters,” reached the CP’s Office for occupying the chairs of clerks, the Superintendent and other policemen bluntly told them that neither the posts of clerks are vacant nor the appointment letters were sent by CP’s Office.

The few moments of cheers turned into tears for Surekha and her relatives as their hopes of securing the jobs were shattered by the con cop (clerk). Moreover, when they demanded Arvind Kamble to return their money, he refused the same thus forcing Surekha and her relatives  to lodge a complaint with Sadar Police against Arvind Kamble who in turn booked him under relevant Sections of the IPC and are probing the matter further.
