Nagpur News: The Additional Sessions Judge Vibha Ingle, amending the charge of rape into molestation of a minor, awarded 3 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) and Rs 1000 as fine to a Police Constable.

The convicted policeman Pramod Ahake was attached to Nagpur Rural Police during the incident and was residing in Teka Naka Police Headquarters Quarter.

According to prosecution, the victim girl, as usual, was going to tuition class on October 23, 2010 in the morning at 6. At the same time, Pramod called her to his house. Promod’s wife had gone to her mother’s house. Taking advantage of the situation, Pramod raped the girl. On November 5, 2010, the Deepawali day, Pramod called the girl to his house and again raped her. However, the girl’s mother, searching for her, went to terrace where she saw the “scene.”

The very next day, the girl lodged a complaint at Jaripatka Police Station against the policeman Pramod Ahake. Police booked Pramod under Sections 376, 342, 506 and had arrested him.
