City woman lured of RBI job, sold in Saudi Arabia for Rs 2 lakh and tortured

A 40-year old woman from city was tricked and sold in Saudi Arabia for Rs 2 lakh. The woman was detained, tortured and forced her do household work by three persons in that country. The victimised woman was first lured of a job in Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and later taken to Saudia Arabia and sold to three persons. The helpless woman anyhow succeeded in returning to city and later approached Sakkardara police and narrated her plight.

According to the unidentified woman, a resident of Sakkardara area, she was approached by two accused namely Akhil Begum, resident of Borgaon Road, near St Martin School and Abdul, resident of Mumbai between 9.9.2016 and 4.12.2016 and ‘promised’ her a job in RBI. However, instead of the RBI job, she was taken to Saudi Arabia and sold to three persons namely Asma Madam, Khalid and Mujahiddin for Rs 2 lakh. Once ‘purchased’ the three accused detained her, tortured and forced her to do household works in Saudi Arabia.

Acting on the victimised woman’s complaint, Sakkardara API Phulakwar has booked all the five accused under Sections 420, 370, 342, 374, 323, 324, 504 of the IPC and launched a detailed investigation into the case.
