City Students Welcomes Ban on Gutkha, Pan Masala by Government of Maharashtra

Government Dental College & Hospital, Nagpur and Rotary Club of Nagpur, North Hills jointly conducted a dental check up and health education camp at Dadasaheb Dhanwatey School, Mahal, Nagpur  at Dinanath High School, Dhantoli, Nagpur .

At Dinanath School, the heath education session was presided by Dr. Vinay Hazare, Dean, Government Dental College & Hospital, Nagpur and Dr. Uday Bodhankar, renowned paediatrician of the city. On the occasion Dr. Vinay Hazare & Dr. Uday Bodhankar addressed the students and spoke about the ill effects of tobacco as well as the benefits of adopting healthy eating habits. Heath education session was also emphasized on the importance of proper oral hygiene and prevention measures for various dental diseases which was followed by oral health check up.

The students have welcomed the recent ban of gutkha, pan masala, kharra, scented supari and various tobacco products and took a pledge of not indulging any of the tobacco habbits.

The team of Govt. Dental College & Hospital, Nagpur, under guidance of Dr. Vinay Hazare, Dean and other clinicians including Dr Milind Wasnik (Asst. Professor, Department of Public Health Dentistry), and Sneha Upadhay, Shubhangi Mishra, Vinay Kothari, Sourabh Gotmare (Interns) conducted the dental check up for the students. More than 580 students from Dadasaheb Dhanwatey School, Mahal & 360 students from Dinanath High School, Dhantoli were benefitted by the camp.

President of  Rotary Club of Nagpur, North Hills Mrs. Meeta Shaw and the Secretary Mrs Jyotsna Pandit also graced the occasion by their presence.

The camp was privileged by the presence of Principals of both the school Mr B S Jambhule of Dadasaheb Dhanwatey School, Mahal, Nagpur & Mrs Roy of Dinanath High School, Dhantoli, Nagpur to make this dental camp a success.
Staffs from GDCH, Staffs from both of the schools and Rotary club members worked very hard for the success of this dental camp.
