City police geared-up for Maratha Morcha in city: Joint CP

During a press meet addressed by Joint Commissioner of Police Santosh Rastogi at the office of the Commissioner of Police, he said that the city police is fully geared up for the Maratha Morcha. As many as 252 police officials and police personnel will be present to manage the protestors of Maratha Morcha. He claimed that 3 Senior Police Officials of the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police, Police Inspectors 10, Assistant Police Inspectors 5, Police Sub Inspector 11, Assistant Sub Inspector 16, Police Constables 194, Police Officials manning the Control Room Booth (Pendal) 3, and Police Constables manning the Control Room Booth  10, Home Guards 5 in all 252 cops. Jt CP Rastogi said they will be using high-tech equipments like drones and cameras mounted on helmets etc to monitor the protestors of Maratha Morcha.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Smarthna Patil informed the media personnel that some of the following are the preventing and controlling measures they have taken.

Parking of Vehicles plying protestors to be parked at the following points
In Subedar Hall Ground premises, Ravinagar Colony Ground, LIT College Grounds, Ramnagar Grounds, Futala Ground, Sonegaon Grounds, Shaniwari Bajimandi Grounds, Coco-cola square, Indian Airport Office Grounds near Coco-cola square, Reshimbagh grounds, Ishwar Deshmukh School grounds, Krida Square, Krida Sankul Grounds.

Diversion Points
Munje Square, Sule High School, Rahate T-Point, Kalpana Building Ramdaspeth, Panchasheel-Talkies Canal Road, University Library Square, Manas Square, Sitabuldi Loha Pul, Anand Talkies Square, Dhantoli Under-bridge Square.

All the roads approaching Sitabuldi will remain closed. The roads from Ajni Naka Square and Ravi Nagar Square to Sitabuldi will also remain closed.

Private Vehicles, Government Buses (MSRTC), Load-carrying vehicles can ply on Old Amravarti Naka i.e. From Ambazhari Lake and Futala Lake ahead or from Ajni Naka Square from Ajni Railway Station Over Bridge via Medical Square ahead.

The press meet was addressed by Joint Commissioner of Police Santosh Rastogi, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ranjan Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) Ravindra Singh Pardesi and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Smarthna Patil.
