Gittikhadan police have booked a middle aged man who allegedly promised job to a woman but instead raped her.
According to police, the incident took place between April 29 and May 7. The 28-year old victim was desperately searching for a job when she met the accused Sunil Agrawal (45), a resident of Kamptee. Agrawal promised her a lucrative job and asked her to meet him in a farm house at Kamptee for an interview. The victim went to the farm house and met Agrawal. The accused, after finding the woman alone, raped her and even threatened of dire consequences if she disclosed the incident to anyone. However, the woman reached home and narrated the ordeal to her family. After persuasion from her family members, she finally lodged a complaint with Gittikhadan police on Wednesday.
Gittikhadan police have registered an offence under Sections 376 and 506 of the IPC against Sunil Agrawal and probing the matter further.
