City businessman murdered over minor tiff

Nagpur News: Daljit Singh Dewan, a businessman from Nagpur was beaten to death, allegedly by a group of youngsters with whom he had a minor wordy duel. According to the police, the business man and his friend had a minor wordy duel and certain harsh words were exchanged which infuriated the youngsters. These youngsters who were waiting for these two people took revenge by attacking them which resulted in the death of the city businessman. The police has not arrested any one so far. The body of a 21-year-old man was found dumped in a drain in Palghar ( Near Mumbai ) late on Saturday night with severe injuries.

According to sources, Dewan and his friend, Zorawar Singh aged 21, both traders of cleaning chemicals had come to Palghar for a business deal and were staying at a hotel in Palghar. According to Assistant Polie Inspector (API) Valmik Patil of Palghar police station, where a case of murder has been registered, Dewan and Zorawar, had a tiff over teasing with a group of boys when they had stepped out of the hotel.

“The two men, who were drunk, were teased by the boys who were seated in a jeep. This led to an exchange of words between Dewan and the boys. Dewan’s friend resolved the duel when he became the peacemaker and the tiff got abated. Both the men returned to their hotel. After some time when they came out the hotel to buy cigarettes, the boys in the jeep who were waiting outside the hotel, thrashed Dewan which led to his to death on the spot. They then dumped the body in a drain.” His body was later recovered when the friend of the deceased informed the police about the incident. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was declared ‘brought dead’.
