Goons beat brothers over trivial issue

Nagpur News: A local gang of goons beat two brothers on Sunday night under Tehsil Police Station area. The attack was the fall out of an argument over a petty issue. Police have registered a no cognisable case.

Sources said, the victim Ram Nandanwar, who’s in his 20s, was going on his motorcycle at around 8.30 pm. Mangesh Kuratkar, Murlidhar Kuratkar, Rupesh Kuratkar and Jeetendra Kuratkar were standing on the corner of the road covering most of the road. Ram, who was crossing the road, asked the accused to move from the road. This ignited an argument between Ram and the accused. Soon, the accused started hitting Ram. Ram’s brother, who was seeing all this, came for the rescue of his brother. The accused started beating him also. Nandanwar brother reached Tehsil police who in turn filed a non-cognisable case.

According to information, Mangesh Kuratkar works in an brick furnace.  Mangesh and his gang are infamous in the area for their criminal activities. But leniency on police part had boosted their criminal activities, the people alleged.

Ram Nandanwar informed that Mangesh and his gang had beaten him earlier also but nothing was done by the police. However, police have registered a case under Section 323, 504, 506 and 34 of the IPC.
