Chairman Singare reviews DP Road project progress

The Chairman of Standing Committee Ramesh Singare on Friday reviewed the progress of Develoment Plan (DP) road project which was proposed in NMC’s Budget for 2015-16. A meeting to review the project was held at Committee’s Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Memorial Hall in Civil Lines office.

At the outset, The Chairman Singare sought information regarding construction of 18 meter wide DP road from Morris College T-Point to Nagpur University to Institute of Science, widening of 24 meter road from University Library on North Ambazari to Maharajbagh Square on Amravati Road, construction of North Ambazari behind Matru Seva Sangh to Amravati Road and Geetanjali Square CA Road to Gandhisagar Lake.

Singare directed the officials to speedily complete the necessary works. For the remaining 172 DP Roads, the concerned officials were directed to submit detailed information such as list of roads coming under jurisdiction of NMC and NIT, length, width and present stats of the roads, expected expenditure, and a survey report regarding whether the roads are surrounded by residential areas. The complete information is to be submitted after the November 9 meeting of Standing Committee.

The review meeting was also attended by Ruling Party Leader Dayashankar Tiwari, Estate, Electricity and Project Special Committee Chairman Sunil Agrawal, former chief of Standing Committee Balya Borkar, Additional Commissioner Dr R Z Siddiqui, Superintending Engineer Prakash Urade, Chief Accounts and Finance Officer Madan Gadge, and other officials.
