New Delhi: The second phase of India’s Census 2027 will be conducted from January 25 to February 28, 2027, the government has announced.
An optional online self-enumeration facility will be available from January 10 to January 24, allowing citizens to submit their household details digitally before census officials begin door-to-door visits.
Poll-bound states, including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Goa and Manipur, along with Uttarakhand, will follow a separate schedule. In these states, self-enumeration will take place from November 16 to 30, 2026, followed by door-to-door enumeration from December 1, 2026, to January 4, 2027.
Census 2027 will be India’s first fully digital census and will also include caste enumeration.
