CCTV camera catches woman stealing purse at a wedding

Nagpur: A CCTV camera caught a woman stealing the purse of another woman at a wedding ceremony being held at Kusumtai Wankhede Hall, North Ambazari Road on Tuesday afternoon. The accused woman burglar is now being hunted by cops.

The complainant Deepali Sandeep Raut (32), resident of Susneha Nagar, Gawande Layout, along with her parents, had gone to Kusumtai Wankhede Hall, North Ambazari Road for attending wedding of a relative. After greeting the newly married couple on the stage, Deepali handed over her black purse to her sister-in-law Medha Mankavade and went for meal at the adjacent reception hall. In the meanwhile, Medha informed Deepali that her purse, containing Rs 45,000 cash, mobile phone, ATM card, RC Book of a two-wheeler, is not being seen anywhere where it was kept. However, when the CCTV footage was scanned, it was noticed that an unidentified woman, in the age group of 40-45 years, had stolen the purse.

Sitabuldi WPSI Waghade has booked the unidentified woman accused under Section 380 of IPC and launched a hunt to trace her.
