NewDelhi/Nagpur: After a disastrous Mathematics exam paper attempted by Class 12 students of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), several students wrote to the Human Resource and Development (HRD) Ministry seeking a solution in the form of lenient marking.

Students and parents have demanded the Board to consider ‘grace marks’. An expert committee has been set up by the Board to evaluate the matter. According to a recent notification issued on the official website, ” The  feedback  received  from  various  stakeholders including  students, subject teachers, examiners will be placed before the committee of subject experts before finalizing the marking scheme  to  be  followed  for  evaluation.  All  possible efforts will be made to protect the interest of the students”.

Now, the parents and students also want the Physics paper to witness leniency in the marking. The students said that the Physics paper was equally lengthy and difficult. The Physics exam was held on March 9. However, experts believed that the Physics exam was not tough, although it was quite lengthy.

According to sources, some parents are also emphasizing on the need for filing a public interest litigation if the CBSE fails to announce corrective measures.
