CBSE Board Exam 2017 begins Thursday, Mobile app launched to locate exam centre

Nagpur/New Delhi: The new app called Exam Centre Locator (ECL) App will use GPS technology to geo-locate the student’s centre.

With not even 24 hours left for the CBSE Board Exam 2017 to begin, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched a mobile app to help all board students to locate their examination centre in a convenient manner.

According to media reports, the app will specifically cater to locating exam centers for candidates.

Features of the mobile app:

  • The app will inform about the location of the exam center designated to a candidate
  • It will also provide route map to the center
  • The app has been named ‘Exam Locator’

Further, the app will help students to quickly find the CBSE board exam centre on the basis of their roll number

“A student can easily find the address, images and geolocation of the designated exam centre on the map and get to know how to reach there”, said CBSE official.

How to use this app:

  • All the students or parent can register in the app entering their mobile number
  • Once they enter the mobile number to the app they will receive a one time password to sign into the app
  • Then the student can access the information by selecting the exam they are appearing for
  • Further, it is expected that CBSE will also launch similar apps for candidates registered for JEE Main, JEE Advanced, and NEET exams.
