Cash, ornaments worth Rs 76000 stolen from Aapli bus

Nagpur: City’s infamous bus service Aapli Bus is again in the news for the wrong reasons. Close on the heels of a disgraceful incident of gang rape of a minor girl by four Aapli bus conductors, yet another criminal incident has come to the fore.

This time, cash and ornaments worth Rs 76,000 of a 23-year-old woman were stolen from a bag in a Aapli bus while she was travelling between Hingna and Sitabuldi on Wednesday. The theft was noticed near Dhiran Kanya Vidhyalaya following which woman registered a complaint with Sitabuldi police station.

Police sources said Priyanka Kankunwar and her spouse Gajanan, residents of Gumgaon Imperial City Flat No. 37/12, Hingna boarded the bus for Buldi from Hingna bus stop.

Prior to boarding, Priyanka had kept her ornaments and cash Rs 4,000 inside her bag. However after reaching Buldi, the duo realized that the ornaments and cash were stolen from the bag.
