Nagpur: The entire world has passed stage of fast changing world and it is now going into dynamic volatility due to technology and way of doing business. Chartered Accountant fraternity is also expected to play a role of more as advisory consultant than auditor and post mortem tax consultant, opined CA. Prafull Chhajed, Central Council Member of ICAI and Chairman of Professional Development Committee, ICAI, in a Mega Conference on Professional Development and Opportunities titled as “Exploring New Horizons” on 29th and 30th December, 2016. He further expressed happiness that Nagpur Branch of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has organized a Conference on Professional Development and Opportunities. He underlined the need for changing the mindset as professionals since with the advent of technology and recent demonetization, the scope for tax compliance practice as well as audit services would reduce drastically. He informed all the participants that in this ever changing scenario, the business world is looking at CAs as business advisors and consultants. He also updated the participant members about various initiatives taken by the ICAI at national level for the benefit of members and resolving their issues.

CA. Abhijit Kelkar, Regional Council Member, congratulated the Nagpur Branch for organizing a Conference on non-traditional topics of professional interest to lead the profession towards a new horizon. He also expressed gratitude towards all the renowned speakers for agreeing to come to Nagpur for sharing their professional expertise on varied topics. He updated all the members about various initiatives taken by the Western India Regional Council for the benefit of members and students.

CA. Swapnil Ghate, Chairman of Nagpur Branch, welcomed all the participants for the seminar. He informed the participants that Conference shall witness best speakers of India for the relevant topics along with local speakers. He also informed that for the first time Nagpur branch has organized conference in dual track system wherein sessions will run concurrently. The video DVD of the entire conference shall be available for the sessions that could not be attended due to parallel session being attended.

Inaugural Session was co-ordinated by CA. Suren Duragkar and CA. Umang Agrawal, Secretary offered formal vote of thanks.
