CAIT to launch massive countrywide GST campaign

Nagpur: Since GST is entirely a technology based taxation system having e-compliance at the core of it and whereas about 70% of the traders in the Country are yet to embrace computerised system in their existing business format, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) is launching a massive educational and awareness campaign on GST throughout the Country which will began from forthcoming 9th November from Mumbai. The CAIT has join hands with Tally Solutions, a premier Indian software product Company to impart technology knowledge to traders during this campaign. In this phase of the campaign, the CAIT & Tally will hold 33 Conferences on GST in various States of the Country till 20th December,2016. etc.

CAIT National President B.C.Bhartia & Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal informed that beside Mumbai other cities includes New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangluru, Ahmadabad, Kanpur, Jaipur, Nagpur, Rourkela, Bhuvneshwar, Ranchi, Raipur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Indore, Chandigarh, Pune, Cochin etc.

Empowering large chunk of trading community which is still much away from computer system, with technology and computerization at such a magnitude is a challenging task particularly when compliance under GST is through electronic system.The series of GST Conference is an attempt to train & educate the trading community on GST compliance and its seamless adoption and to raise awareness of the procedural compliance under the new taxation system and how traders can embrace technology for easy compliance of GST. In this light, the joint initiative of CAIT & Tally Solutions to spread GST awareness, with proper adoption of technology is a significant step in the successful adoption of GST in India in trading community and non corporate sector of the Country-added trade leaders.

Both Bhartia & Khandelwal said that future mode of business in the Country will largely be conducted through electronic payments and with introduction of GST, the tax will be deposited through either credit card/debit card, NEFT or RTGS only. There will be no Cash or Cheque and tax returns, claiming of input credit, communication between traders and tax department and other incidental activities, all activities will be conducted digitally. Therefore, it is imperative that the traders and other sectors adopt technology and understand procedures of compliance.

During the campaign, CAIT and Tally Solutions, would be reaching out to over thousands of trade associations, Federations & Chambers across the Country and will also involve national organisations of different verticals from the non-corporate sector. The idea is to train Master Trainers in every State who in turn will train traders in their respective states. , gradually spanning to cover even the smallest hubs. The partnership will aim to educate and train the trading community of India on implications of the new law on their respective businesses and help members understand the importance of technology adoption in this new era.
