Burglars strike at two flats in same apartment building in Nandanvan

Nagpur: Burglars struck at two flats of the same apartment building in Nandanvan area and decamped with gold ornaments, laptop and cash. The daylight theft rattled the citizens as city is witnessing a spurt in house-breaking incidents in recent days.

One of the victims, Yogendra Girdhar Dhole (47), resident of Flat No. 101, Hariman Apartment, Amba Nagar, Kharbi, locked his flat and went out for some work around 12 noon on Wednesday. At the same time, burglars broke open lock of his flat and gained entry. The miscreants laid their hands on gold ornaments and cash of Rs 58,000 kept in an almirah. Coming out of Yogendra’s flat, the burglars eyed another flat in the same apartment. The goons smashed lock of Flat No. 102, owned by Shubham Murlidhar Badot (26). Shubham too had gone out and locked his flat. A laptop and other valuables worth Rs 1.04 lakh were stolen from his flat.

Nandanvan police constable Surendra has registered an offence under Sections 454, 380 of the IPC and launched a search to apprehend the burglars.
