Nagpur News.

The telephone connections of the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), which is a leading telecommunications company in India, came to a halt in the Second Capital. The internet broadband service also fizzled out which caused difficulty for its subscribers, especially offices and other business outlets.
According to sources, the Public Works Department (PWD) carried out drilling work for a borewell near Morris College road. While drilling, around 4.000 cables of BSNL service provider was broken off. This resulted in crippling the telephone and internet services of the BSNL in the city. Although the percentage of BSNL landline subscribers are limited these days, but the broadband internet services are used widely by the people and business clientele because of its speed and economical plans. If sources are to be believed, the construction works carried out by OCW, PWD and NHI often create disturbance in the BSNL services due to poor installation of cables throughout the city.
The authorities of BSNL have ensured that the telephone and internet services will continue as it was earlier from May 20. The BSNL is fixing the problem of the damaged cable ducts near Morris College road. The MD of BSNL, R N Patel said that due to carelessness of the PWD, OCW and NHI workers the services of BSNL got affected.
