Brig Vijay Kumar is taking over as Commandant of IML Kamptee from Col Sandeep Kumar
Nagpur: The Institute of Military Law, Kamptee marked a new beginning as Brig Vijay Kumar took over the command of IML from Col Sandeep Kumar on 11 Jan 2016. The command was transferred with exchange of ceremonial baton and the signing of handing taking over documents. Brig Vijay Kumar is an aluminous of Offrs Training School, Madras as a direct entry JAG Offr and has 27 years of service in colour to his credit.
Brig Vijay has had a distinguished carrier as an offr of the JAG’s Dept of Indian Army wherein he has held the appointments of Assistant Judge Advocate General, Officer Incharge Legal Cell at Delhi and has been legal advisor to UN Mission in Congo. Prior to his appointment as commandant IML, he was holding the charge as director court martial at the Army Headquarters, New Delhi. For his meritorious service, he has been awarded Army Cdr’s Commendation four times and COAS Commendation once.
Wg Cdr Samir S Gangakhedkar, Public Relations Officer (Defence), Nagpur intimated that the Institute of Military Law shifted as its permanent establishment in the Kamptee Cantonment in year 1989.
