A 17-year old boy, who left home for bringing back father’s jerkin from his office, was hit by an unidentified speeding vehicle and killed on the spot on Friday. The tragic incident occurred near 8th Mile on Amravati Road. A search is on to nab the unidentified vehicle driver.
According to police, the victim Shubham Bhimrao Deshbhratar (17), resident of Plot No. 40, Sidharth Colony, Nagpur left home between 7.30 pm and 8 pm for bringing back father’s jerkin from nearby MSEB office. When Shubham was crossing the road near 8th Mile on Amravati Road, a rashly driven unidentified vehicle hit him with forceful impact and speeded away. Shubham received critical injuries and died on the spot.
Wadi PSI Bhaskar, based on a complaint lodged by Nayan Sunil Fulzele of the same area, has booked the unidentified vehicle driver under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC and Sub-Sections 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act and hunting to nab him.
