A book on ‘Theme Park Human Resource Management’ written by Mansse Bhandari, CEO, FunNFood Village, Nagpur and Dr Uday Dokras, Dean of Sewa Institute of Management will be released at the hands of Balwant Chawla, Chairman, Polo Amusement Group, in a function to be held at LOUNGE, Chitnavis Center at 6 pm on Friday, March 10.

This is the first book on any part of a new discipline known as Theme Park Management Science that is sure to grow popular not only after its addition to the management thought but also due to the fact that Theme Parks are a growing business world-wide. In India alone there are 280 parks and 300 more are in the planning and building stage adding 5 lakh jobs to the labour market each year.

In 11 chapters this book explain how to manage the labour intensive theme parks and add efficiency and quality to the service provided there through human resource interventions as well as skill up-gradation activities. After its existence reaches 8 months, the publisher — Sewa Institute of Management — will be eligible for the Prime Minister’s Skill Development initiatives as it is giving 100% placement to all students currently enrolled. Side by side initiatives in the development of Theme Park Management Science has meant not only the publication of this book which is the first of a trilogy, but also 5 research papers based on the book.

The authors — eminent Nagpurian Dr Uday Dokras, son of former Director of VNIT Dr V M Dokras is a Ph D from Sweden and co-author Mansse Bhandari is educated in hotel management in Switzerland and Australia. They bring together70 years of HR experience amongst them.
