2 youths attacked murderously in separate incidents

Two murder attempts were reported from different areas of the city on Wednesday night.

In the first incident, when the complainant Yogendra Chindhu Ghorpade (18), resident of Railway Quarter RB-2, Guard Line, was present at his house for a function around 10.30 pm on Wednesday, four youngsters named Sonu Kishore Paunikar, Chhannu, Dadu and Monty, all residents of the same area, arrived at his house and started abusing him. In order to prevail upon the four accused, Yougendra’s brother Shailendra tried to intervene in the matter. However, suddenly, one of the accused Sonu Paunikar whipped out a sword and stabbed Shailendra in his stomach with the intention of killing him. When two other brothers Ravindra and Shubham tried to save Shailendra, they too were beaten by the four accused. The profusely bleeding Shailendra was rushed to Mayo Hospital where he is reportedly battling for life.

Tehsil PSI R V Ambhore has booked the four accused under Sections 307, 323, 324, 504, 506(B), 34 of the IPC and mounted a hunt to nab them.

Similarly, Manoj Sukhlal Shahu (25), resident of House No. 1, Kunjaram Wadi, was attacked by Arjun Bihari Yadav (22) and Sunil, both residents of Dipti Signal, over old rivalry. The accused duo assaulted Manoj with stones and sharp-edged weapons with the motive of murdering him. The grievously injured Manoj was taken to Mayo Hospital where his condition is stated to be serious.

On the basis of a complaint lodged by Karan Sukhlal Shahu (21), Kalamna WPSI A D Kokane has registered a case against the accused under Sections 307, 34 of the IPC and searching for them.
