Bogus job promise forced young boy commit suicide, Pune man booked

Nagpur: A 30-year old man not only pocketed Rs 30,000 from a young boy by dolling out a job promise but forced the boy to commit suicide. Cops have now booked the accused man on charges of abetting suicide.

According to details, in the month of August, the victim Abhijit Gyaneshwar Raut (23), resident of Divan Layout, Manewada-Besa Road, had ended his life by hanging to a ceiling fan in his residence. At that time, Hudkeshwar police had registered a case of accidental death and probing the matter further.

However, a thorough investigation revealed that the accused Jatin Bhanudas Shambharkar (30), resident of Pragati Nagar, near Sainath School, Ajni, Nagpur but presently staying in Pune, had doled out a promise of providing job to Abhijit Raut and in return had taken Rs 30,000 from him. But forget the job the accused Jatin Shambharkar even did not return the money to Abhijit despite frequent demands. The dejected Abhijit saw no other alternative but to commit suicide. He ended his life on August 20. Subsequently, Abhijit’s father Gyaneshwar Raut lodged a complaint against the accused Jatin Shambharkar.

Hudkeshwar PSI Ingole has now booked the accused Jatin under Section 306 of IPC and initiating further course of action.
